Comparison

Relivv vs Kululu: Event Photo Sharing Compared

Kululu and Relivv solve the same problem in almost the same way: guests scan a QR code, upload photos and videos from their phone browser, and everything appears in a shared album and on a live slideshow. Neither asks guests to install an app.

The plans are also very similar, with a free tier and two one-time paid tiers per event. The differences are in currency, the free-tier details and a few features at the edges.

Written by the Relivv team, so we are biased. Kululu facts are taken from their website and were last checked on 2026-10-09 (privacy and data location on 2026-10-14). Spot something out of date? Tell us and we will fix it.

Who each one is best for

Kululu is a good fit for hosts who want exactly this browser-based, QR-code model and are happy to pay in US dollars, and for organisers of large public events who would like to hire a human moderator from the provider rather than moderate themselves.

Relivv suits hosts in Europe who want to pay in euros with VAT handled at checkout, events with guests who speak different languages, and hosts who would rather moderate with their own helpers: on Pro you can invite co-moderators who approve photos from their phones with a personal link and PIN.

Where Relivv and Kululu are almost identical

If you strip away the branding, the guest experience is very close. In both, a guest points the phone camera at a QR code, a web page opens, and they choose photos or videos to upload. Neither product asks the guest to install anything or create an account, and both let guests add short text messages as well as photos. For older relatives that is the part that matters most, and both get it right.

The plan structure is close too. Both have a free plan with 100 uploads that is kept for 7 days, a middle plan at 39 and a top plan at 99, and both keep files for 3 months on the middle plan and 1 year on the top plan. Both offer a one-click download of everything on the paid plans. If you are choosing between the two on features alone, you will probably be happy with either.

Where they differ

The first difference is money. Kululu lists prices in US dollars with taxes added on top, and it was running a promotion when we checked. Relivv prices are in euros, and our terms state that prices include VAT where the law requires it; Stripe calculates any tax at checkout from your billing address. For a couple in Europe the euro price is usually the simpler one to budget, but compare the final amounts on the day you buy.

The second is moderation. Kululu offers a paid human moderator on request, which can be useful at a large public event where nobody on the organising team has time to watch the uploads. Relivv does not sell moderation as a service. Instead, Pro gives you approval before anything appears, an automatic filter for explicit images and co-moderators: people you invite who get their own link and PIN to approve photos from their phones, and who can be removed at any time.

The third is language and data location. Relivv’s guest pages are available in 19 languages and follow the language of each guest’s phone automatically, which helps at international weddings. On data, Relivv is operated from the EU and stores files in EU data centres, while Kululu’s policy says its data is stored in the United States. Neither is wrong; it depends on what you and your guests prefer.

Setting up: step by step

Kululu

  1. Sign up and create the event, then customise the title, date, colours and backgrounds.
  2. Share the album link by email, SMS or chat apps, or print the QR code on cards and signs.
  3. Optionally open the live slideshow on a projector, TV or tablet; it updates as guests upload.
  4. After the event, view everything in the digital album and download it as a zipped folder.

Relivv

  1. Create a free account and an event: name, date and event type.
  2. Download the QR code in high resolution and print it on table cards or a welcome sign, or share the link in a message.
  3. On the day, open the live wall link on a laptop or smart TV connected to the venue screen and switch to full screen.
  4. Guests scan the code and upload photos, videos or short text posts from the phone browser, with no app and no account.
  5. Afterwards, download individual files on any plan, or everything in one ZIP on Plus and Pro.

Privacy and where the data is stored

Kululu’s privacy policy says uploaded data is stored on Google Cloud (Firebase) servers in the United States. The service is operated by Crunchy Granola LLC, with an address in Wyoming, USA, and payments are handled by Paddle.

Operated by Asveon Group Ltd. in Sofia, Bulgaria (EU). According to our privacy policy the application and database run on AWS in Frankfurt, Germany, and uploaded photos and videos are stored on AWS in Stockholm, Sweden.

Both summaries come from each company’s published privacy policy. Read the full policies before you decide if data location matters to you or your guests.
