Relivv vs WedUploader: Which Wedding Photo App?

WedUploader takes a different approach from most guest photo apps: uploads land directly in the couple’s own Google Drive. Guests use a browser link or QR code, with no app and no login.

Relivv hosts the album itself and is built around the live photo wall at the venue. Which suits you depends mostly on where you want the files to live and how much the live slideshow matters.

Who each one is best for

WedUploader is a strong choice for couples who already live in Google Drive and want every original file there from the first upload, with no expiry date, and for couples with several events (engagement party, shower, wedding) who like the idea of one payment unlocking all their albums.

Relivv suits couples for whom the live photo wall at the reception is the main attraction, who do not want guest uploads to use their personal Google storage, and who want to approve photos before they reach the big screen.

The real difference: who stores the files

With WedUploader, the files go into a folder in your own Google Drive. That has clear advantages: there is no expiry date, you own the storage, and you can organise or share the folder like any other. The trade-off is that guest uploads count against your Google storage. Google gives 15 GB free, shared with Gmail and Google Photos, and WedUploader’s own FAQ suggests buying more storage if you run out. A wedding with a lot of 4K video can use that up quickly.

Relivv stores the files for you, in EU data centres, for a fixed period: 7 days on Free, 3 months on Plus and 1 year on Pro. You then download everything in one click on the paid plans and keep it wherever you like. If you never want to think about a deadline, WedUploader’s model is simpler. If you would rather not connect your personal Google account or manage storage space, Relivv’s is.

Live slideshow and moderation

WedUploader includes a full-screen, real-time slideshow photo wall in its Premium package, together with the option to pick which photos to display and which to keep private. Relivv includes the live wall on every plan, including Free, with the QR code shown on screen so new guests can join from their seats.

On Relivv Pro you can also require approval before anything appears, switch on an automatic filter that blocks explicit or violent images, and invite co-moderators who approve from their own phones. That matters most when the screen is in a room with children or with guests you do not know well.

Pricing over several events

WedUploader’s Premium is a single payment that unlocks its features for all your albums, which is good value if you are planning an engagement party, a shower and the wedding. Relivv prices each event separately, so three paid events cost three times as much. On the other hand, Relivv’s free plan already includes the live wall and video uploads, which may be enough for the smaller events.

Setting up: step by step

WedUploader

  1. Sign in with a Google account and create an album; WedUploader asks for permission to write to your Google Drive.
  2. Share the album link or the QR code; sign templates are provided for each album.
  3. Guests upload in the browser without logging in, and each file is transferred into a folder in your Drive. WedUploader emails you when new files arrive.
  4. Buy Premium if you want the shared gallery, guestbook, voicemails and the full-screen slideshow photo wall.

Relivv

  1. Create a free account and an event: name, date and event type.
  2. Download the QR code in high resolution and print it on table cards or a welcome sign, or share the link in a message.
  3. On the day, open the live wall link on a laptop or smart TV connected to the venue screen and switch to full screen.
  4. Guests scan the code and upload photos, videos or short text posts from the phone browser, with no app and no account.
  5. Afterwards, download individual files on any plan, or everything in one ZIP on Plus and Pro.

Which keeps photos longer?

WedUploader stores files in your Google Drive, so they last as long as you keep them there. Relivv keeps uploads for up to 1 year and lets you download everything in one click.
