The Guest App Alternative: What to Use Now
The Guest was a wedding photo-sharing app from The Knot. When we checked, its website no longer loaded and its App Store listing had been removed, so couples who planned to use it need another option.
The Guest was built around a native iOS and Android app. Most current tools, including Relivv, work in the phone browser after scanning a QR code, which removes the install step for guests.
Written by the Relivv team, so we are biased. The Guest facts are taken from the sources listed at the end of this page and were last checked on 2026-10-09. Spot something out of date? Tell us and we will fix it.

Who each one is best for
The Guest was popular because it was free and came from a wedding brand couples already used. It is no longer an option, so the useful question is which alternative matches what you liked about it.
Relivv suits couples who want a free replacement with a live wall, and guests who should not have to install anything: they scan a QR code and upload from the browser.
What The Guest was
The app started life as Veri, a photo-sharing app that The Knot’s parent company acquired in 2017 and renamed The Guest. In October 2018 The Knot waived its $100 fee, making it free for couples. It automatically gathered the photos and videos guests took on their phones into one place, which is what most couples still want today.
How to choose a replacement
Start with three questions. Do your guests need to install anything? Browser-based tools such as Relivv, Kululu, Guestpix and Wedibox do not ask them to. Do you want a live slideshow at the reception? Relivv and Kululu include one on every plan, others on paid plans or as an add-on. And where should the files end up? WedUploader puts them in your own Google Drive; the others host the album and let you download it.
If you liked the disposable-camera idea, POV is the closest in spirit, with a shot limit and a delayed reveal. If you want invitations and RSVPs as well, Guestpix and Wedibox bundle them. If you want the simplest free start with a live wall, Relivv and Kululu both give you 100 uploads on their free plans.
Switching takes about ten minutes
If your invitations or table cards already mention The Guest, you only need a new QR code. Create a free Relivv event, download the code, and print it on a small card for each table or a sign at the entrance. On the day, open the live wall on the venue screen so guests can see their photos appear, which is usually the best reminder to keep uploading.
Setting up Relivv instead
Relivv
- Create a free account and an event: name, date and event type.
- Download the QR code in high resolution and print it on table cards or a welcome sign, or share the link in a message.
- On the day, open the live wall link on a laptop or smart TV connected to the venue screen and switch to full screen.
- Guests scan the code and upload photos, videos or short text posts from the phone browser, with no app and no account.
- Afterwards, download individual files on any plan, or everything in one ZIP on Plus and Pro.

Questions people ask
Is The Guest app still available?
When we checked in October 2026 its website did not load and its App Store listing had been removed, so it can no longer be used for new weddings.
What is the best free alternative to The Guest?
Several tools have free plans: Relivv (100 uploads with a live wall), Kululu (100 uploads with a live wall), Guestpix (50 photos), Wedibox (50 photos) and POV (up to 10 guests).
Do I need an app to collect wedding photos from guests?
