Kululu Alternatives (2026): 5 Options Compared

Kululu is a good product. Guests scan a QR code, upload photos and videos from the phone browser without an app, and everything appears in a shared album and on a live slideshow. It has a free plan and two one-time paid plans per event, priced in US dollars.

People look for an alternative for different reasons: they would rather pay in euros, want their files stored somewhere else, need invitations and RSVPs as well, or simply want a different kind of experience. Below are five alternatives, what each does better or worse than Kululu, and when staying with Kululu is the better choice.

Disclosure: this page is published by Relivv, one of the alternatives listed, and written by Asen Panayotov, the founder. We do not earn commission from any product mentioned here. Every fact about another company comes from that company's own website or, for a product that no longer exists, an independent published source; the sources are listed at the end. The alternatives

Wedibox

A wedding suite: guest photo sharing plus a wedding website, RSVPs, seating chart, playlist, registry links and an audio guestbook, sold as one-time packages.

What it does well

  • Everything for the wedding behind one QR code on the All-In-One plan.
  • Long upload windows (3 months to 1 year) from an activation date you choose.
  • A 14-day money-back guarantee on paid plans.

Trade-offs

  • The free plan is smaller than Kululu’s: 50 photos, without video, slideshow or ZIP download.
  • The live slideshow comes with the Wedding and All-In-One plans, not the cheapest one.

Pick Wedibox if you want your wedding website, RSVPs and guest photos from one company. Relivv vs Wedibox, in detail

Guestpix

A wedding-focused gallery with design themes, print templates, digital invitations, RSVPs and a written or video guestbook.

What it does well

  • Galleries that match your stationery: 20 themes and more than 180 print templates.
  • Invitations and RSVPs in the same place as the photos.
  • Galleries kept for 12 months, or 24 months on the Bundle, with a renewal option.

Trade-offs

  • The free plan allows 50 photos, half of Kululu’s 100 uploads.
  • The live slideshow is on paid packages only.

Pick Guestpix if design and keeping the gallery online for up to two years matter more to you than a free live wall. Relivv vs Guestpix, in detail

POV

A disposable-camera app: each guest gets a set number of shots, and the gallery is revealed during the event or later, for example the next morning.

What it does well

  • A playful experience that is quite different from an album: no retakes and a surprise reveal.
  • Free for up to 10 guests, which suits small dinners and get-togethers.
  • A printed photobook from the same service.

Trade-offs

  • Guests share photos taken in the POV camera, not videos or photos they already have on their phones.
  • The price rises with the guest count, and the live slideshow is part of a paid add-on.

Pick POV if you want the disposable-camera game rather than a complete record of the day. Relivv vs POV, in detail

WedUploader

Guest uploads go straight into a folder in your own Google Drive, and one payment unlocks Premium for all your albums.

What it does well

  • No expiry date: the files last as long as you keep them in your Drive.
  • One payment covers every album, which suits an engagement party, a shower and the wedding.
  • A voicemail guestbook and upload notifications.

Trade-offs

  • Uploads count against your Google storage (15 GB free from Google, shared with Gmail and Google Photos).
  • The full-screen slideshow is part of Premium, and the host needs a Google account.

Pick WedUploader if you want every original file in your own Google Drive from the first upload. Relivv vs WedUploader, in detail

Relivv

Our product, and the closest like-for-like alternative to Kululu: guests scan a QR code and upload photos, videos and short text posts from the phone browser, and everything appears on a live wall and in a shared album.

What it does well

  • Prices in euros with VAT handled at checkout, instead of US dollars plus tax.
  • Guest pages in 19 languages that follow each guest’s phone.
  • Uploads stored in the EU, and co-moderators on Pro who approve photos from their own phones.

Trade-offs

  • The plans are so close to Kululu’s that switching changes little if you are happy with what you have.
  • Paid plans are generally non-refundable, so test on the free plan first, and there is no paid human moderator service.

Pick Relivv if you like how Kululu works but would rather pay in euros, keep the files in the EU or welcome guests in several languages. Relivv vs Kululu, in detail

What about The Guest?

The Guest was a wedding photo-sharing app from The Knot. When we checked, its website no longer loaded and its App Store listing had been removed, so couples who planned to use it need another option. It is not an option for new events. What to use instead of The Guest.

When to stay with Kululu

Switching tools has a cost: new QR cards, a new setup, a new thing to learn a few weeks before the event. If Kululu already does what you need, these are good reasons to keep it.

  • You want a paid human moderator for a large public event.
  • You are in the US and prefer to pay in dollars.
  • Their current promotion makes the paid plan cheaper on the day you buy.
  • You have already printed cards or invitations with your Kululu QR code.
  • You are happy with the plan you have: Relivv's plans are close enough to Kululu's that switching only for the features would change little.

How to choose in four questions

1. Do you want an album or a game? If the fun is in limited shots and a reveal the next morning, POV is the only option here built for that. Everyone else collects whatever guests share.

2. How important is the screen at the venue? If the live slideshow is the centrepiece, choose a tool that includes it on the plan you will buy. Relivv and Kululu include it on every plan; the others on paid plans or as an add-on.

3. Where should the files end up? WedUploader puts them in your Google Drive with no expiry. The hosted tools keep them for a set period, from 7 days on a free plan to 2 years on the largest packages, and let you download them.

4. Do you need more than photos? If you also want a wedding website, invitations or RSVPs, Wedibox and Guestpix bundle them. If you have those already, a photo-only tool keeps things simple.

Whatever you pick, two things matter more than the tool: put the QR code where every guest will see it, and download a complete copy of everything soon after the event.

How we put this list together

We included tools that, like Kululu, let wedding and event guests share photos without installing a full app, and that we compare in detail on our own comparison pages. Prices, plan limits and storage periods come from each provider's pricing and help pages, and data-location statements from their privacy policies. Each product's facts carry the date we checked them, and the most recent check is shown at the top of this page.

There is no ranking and no score: the order of the list says nothing about quality. We describe where each tool is weaker as well as where it is stronger, including our own. If anything here is out of date, tell us and we will check it again.

Questions people ask

What is the closest alternative to Kululu?

Relivv works in almost the same way: QR-code uploads in the phone browser, a live wall on every plan, a free plan with 100 uploads kept for 7 days and one-time paid plans at 39 and 99. The main differences are the currency, the languages of the guest pages and where the files are stored.

Is there a free alternative to Kululu?

Several. Relivv has 100 free uploads with the live wall, Guestpix and Wedibox allow 50 photos free, and POV is free for up to 10 guests. WedUploader lets guests upload into your Google Drive for free and charges for Premium features.

Which alternative keeps photos the longest?

WedUploader stores files in your own Google Drive, so they do not expire while they stay there. Among the hosted tools, Guestpix keeps galleries for up to 24 months on its Bundle and Wedibox up to 2 years on All-In-One. Kululu and Relivv keep files for up to 1 year on their top plans.

Is The Guest app still an option?

No. When we checked, the website of The Knot’s former wedding photo app no longer loaded and its App Store listing had been removed.
